Microsoft Teams learning / understanding continues. Today we will discuss one setting of how to manage apps in Teams admin center

Recently I have a session for Microsoft Viva in Microsoft 365 Chicago free virtual event.
One of the module of Microsoft Viva – Viva Connection I need to show but which is blocked by default in Microsoft Teams so we cant use it directly. We need to enable it from Teams admin center. So this is blog 🙂
We could manage apps from Microsoft Teams admin center
When we managing apps for our organization, we are controlling what apps are available to our users in our organization’s app store
We can then use app permission and app setup policies to configure what apps will be available for specific users
To manage apps in Teams, log in to Microsoft Teams admin center as
Once we clicked on “Manage apps” from left side blade under “Teams apps” we will be navigated to manage apps page in Teams admin center as
On manage apps page we could view listing of all apps with respective status either “Allowed” or “Blocked” as shown in above fig
When we block / allow app from manage app from Microsoft Teams admin center page – by default it happens for all users of our organization / company
We have “Search” option to search for specific app as
We could not add blocked apps in our Teams client, for example as in above fig, Viva Connection is blocked by default, if we try to find it out in Teams client we wont find it as

We could change the status of specific app from Microsoft Teams admin center by clicking on specific app and navigating to app details page as


Once we have updated status we are able to find “Viva connections” app in Teams client as
