Microsoft 365 – SharePoint Online : Sharing Links for Microsoft Lists is available! – Updated rollout time lines

Hi All,
Greetings for the day 🙂 LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL 🙂
Today sharing one update related to Microsoft Lists
Update : Now sharing links for Microsoft Lists is available
Details :
- Now users can share the entire Microsoft Lists and List items
- This feature is similar as we share Files and Folders – same sharing link
- We could also share specific list items as well as in below figures
Timelines :
- This feature will be start rolling out – early September (previously May) and expect to complete at the end of October (previously end of July)
Associated Roadmap ID – Roadmap ID 81965Â
Few important points :
- By default only Site Owners can share the list. Since sharing list requires “Manage Permissions” permissions in SharePoint
- If Site Administrator doesn’t restricted sharing list item to Site Owner only then users who have edit permissions on list item can share the list item using Share or Copy link option
- If a site member or site visitor (or any non-owner) tries to share the list, SharePoint sends an approval request to the site owners if the site allows access requests
- If the site has access requests turned off, then non-owners receive a message letting them know they do not have permissions to share
- If list item or list which is shared is deleted means sharing link is no longer exists then permissions of the users to which link is shared are revoked
